Logo design cost in India: what you actually pay for
Why logo prices in India range from almost nothing to a lot, what each level includes, and how to judge a quote.

A logo can be bought for almost nothing from a template or built over weeks by a studio. Both are called “logo design”, so the price alone tells you little. What you pay for is the thinking and the files around the drawing.
What is in the price
- Research: understanding your business, customers and competitors so the logo is not a guess.
- Concepts: how many different directions you see, not just variations of one idea.
- Refinement: rounds of changes, and the time spent getting spacing and shapes right.
- Files: vector files, colour and black-and-white versions, and a version that works small.
- Guidelines: how to use the logo, colours and type so it stays consistent.
- Rights: whether the final artwork is fully yours.
Three common levels
- Template or marketplace logo: quick and low-cost, but not unique and often reused. Fine for a test, risky for a brand you want to own.
- A freelance designer: a custom logo from one person. Quality varies, so look at their past work closely.
- A studio or agency: strategy, identity, guidelines and applications such as packaging and social media. Takes longer, and the logo sits inside a system.
What a good quote looks like
It lists the stages, the number of concepts and revisions, the files you receive and the timeline. It says who owns the final artwork. If a quote only says “logo design” with a number, ask what that number buys.
Questions to ask
- How many concepts will I see, and how many rounds of changes are included?
- What files do I get? Will I get vector files?
- Will I get a short brand guide?
- Do I own the final design?
- Can the logo be used on packaging, social media and the web, and have you tested it small?
